Your Personal Gold
Medal
When we
look back on the year 2008, the summer Olympics in Beijing
will be among the highlights.
The images of Michael Phelps with his eight gold
medals or of Coach K with his all star, gold medal team, now
have taken their place in history.
From my
perspective, never has the power of coaching been so
powerfully demonstrated than at the recent Olympics. It makes me request that you ask yourself, “What is it that
I want to accomplish in the next six months, and who can
help me do it to the best of my abilities?”
The
definition of a coach is: a knowledgeable independent
observer, who gives feedback, teaches skills, expands
awareness and provides any support needed to improve player
performance. While
this is very accepted in the sports world, the business
world is still in catch up mode in their use of coaches. For you, a coach can help you:
- Leverage
your scarce time
- Accelerate
your performance by using your natural strengths
- Enhance
your personal communication power
- Overcome
self limiting responses in specific situations
- Find
balance
Do any of
these situations resonate with you? Make a wise investment
in yourself, your career and your company by achieving
results through working with a coach.
Go ahead, talk with your Manager about the specific
reasons why you should work with a business coach and you
will have taken the first step towards creating your
personal gold medal performance.
Congratulations,
you have taken the next step to deriving
results from within.
If
you like the tip, let us know but more important, share it
with a friend or colleague. As always, YOUR SUCCESS IS MY
GREATEST PLEASURE.
